Derivation of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation

Abstract:
In this talk, I am going to discuss some recent resultsconcerning the derivation, from many body quantum mechanics, of acubic nonlinear Schroedinger equation, known as the Gross-Pitaevskiiequation, for the dynamics of Bose-Einstein condensation. This is ajoint work with L. Erdos and H.-T. Yau.
